Dent (DENT): The Cryptocurrency that’s Already Useful in 2018

The cryptocurrency market is full of thousands of coins, most of which are just that: digital coins. The vast majority of cryptocurrency options can be bought, sold and traded, but very few of them actually have functioning platforms or products associated with the coin. If there will eventually be a platform attached to the currency, most of these projects are still developing their networks.

IOTA (MIOTA) is a solid example of one of these currencies – at this point, the technology isn’t up and running, so the coin is pretty much just a hopeful investment at this point.

That’s what makes the DENT coin stand out so much. It’s a blockchain-based platform that users around the world can already interact with and earn tokens with.

Just a reminder – what does the DENT coin do again?

This currency is an ERC20 token launched on the Ethereum (ETH) network. Not to be confused with Dentacoin (DCN), this cryptocurrency has nothing to do with teeth – or dents, for that matter. DENT is a platform where users can sell their unused mobile data in exchange for coin rewards. This is how the company describes its motivation on its site: “Unused data or credit expires every month which means billions of dollars of profit for the operators — at the cost of the users. DENT aims to liberate the usage of mobile data, driven by the DENT Marketplace using Blockchain technology.”

This was one of the earlier blockchain-based apps that’s already downloadable in the Apple app store as well as the Google Play store – for iOS and Android devices. With mass adoption seeming like something that’s still so far away, it’s nice to see coins like this one that are currently live and show us what the future might look like.

DENT just reached another milestone

When you sign up for the DENT coin app, which they say only takes about two minutes, you earn a complimentary 30 tokens. Now, they just added a new feature – where users earn 20 tokens for referring a friend.

It’s hardly a jackpot, but it may encourage an uptick in this app’s user base. Have you guys tried this app yet?
