In the world of blockchain-based platforms, there are a few milestones that almost every cryptocurrency organization has to go through. The launch of a blockchain network’s beta platform (where users can test out its functions and user interface before the commercial introduction) is one of the biggest moments in a coin’s growth story. Just a few hours ago, AdEx (ADX) finally gave its enthusiastic investors an official date for its beta release: next Monday, February 26th.

This has been a long time coming for fans who have been following this coin’s development path for the last few months.
The AdEx (ADX) platform is a bit off its schedule
Originally, the AdEx V.1 beta launch was supposed to happen in October – but, clearly, that didn’t happen. Apparently, they found a superior method of building out the architecture, so they reverted back to their original release date:
“Meanwhile, however, we realized that there was a better way to design the AdEx architecture. That new approach would give the DApp more flexibility and scalability, and would allow for the integration with hardware wallets such as Trezor, Ledger and Metamask.
At that point we made the decision to revert to our original release date for the benefit of a superior decentralized app. We knew that a part of our community would be disappointed but our choices have always been directed by scalability, efficiency and user experience. This is why we do not regret not releasing early.”
That means that the version that is getting released next week is AdEx V.2 – so it already has the beefed up scalability that was supposed to be included in the version that was initially set to launch next year.
Investors of this coin must be very happy that the dates are moving up.
But the AdEx coin is not the only ad-based cryptocurrency
The AdEx coin is still quite an underdog when it comes to the global crypto market. It’s also not the only cryptocurrency option that is all about disrupting the online advertising space – there is also AdToken (ADT) and AdShares (ADST), for instance.
That means that this blockchain-based platform has a lot of proving itself to do – this coin doesn’t have that much of an advantage over other decentralized advertising exchanges when it comes to features.
I guess we will see what happens when the beta release happens on Monday, and how the user feedback is.
